In our hearts, we knew it would end up here. Two of rock's biggest names (and most fashion-conscious icons), Rod Stewart and David Bowie, have reached the finals of our March Mullet Madness competition. You have seven days to decide which one of them wins this prestigious honor, and the entirely imaginary trophy that goes with it.

We’ve lined up some of history’s most spectacular mullets and paired them off against each other for a series of tonsorial battles. The field has been halved every week based on your votes. Now, only the two greatest “business up front, party in the back” hairdos in rock ‘n’ roll history are left standing.

Bowie's famous "Ziggy Stardust" mullet has steered him past longtime Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Led Zeppelin legend Robert Plant and Metalllica "mane" man James Hetfield in previous rounds. Meanwhile, a particularly dramatic bi-level version of Stewart's famous spiked and tousled locks helped him defeat a murder's row of opponents: Rush frontman Geddy Lee, U2's Bono and Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott.

So it's all come down to this. Which of these two high-class Missouri compromises gets your vote? If you just can’t decide, don’t worry — you can come back and keep voting once an hour between now and when the finals polls close on April 11 at 11:59PM ET. Our March Mullet Madness winner will be announced on April 12.
