The Boston Bruins have not had a General Manager since April 15 when Peter Chiarelli was fired. That could soon change according to a report out today.Joe MacDonald of the Boston Globe is reporting that sources within the league have indicated that Bruins assistant GM and former player Don Sweeney is a finalist for the job. MacDonald also indicated that other finalists may include former Penguins GM Ray Shero and Rangers assistant GM Jeff Gorton.

Sweeney has spent 25 years with the Bruins, 15 as a player and the last 10 in the front office. Groton was in the Bruins front office from 1992-2007 and served as the assistant GM for his last 7 seasons with the team. Shero has no connection to the Bruins.
