Ensuring doors are locked at all times and removing any valuable items from view may help to prevent crimes of opportunity from occurring.

"Thefts and break-ins may occur at any time of the year," said Sgt. André Duval of the West District RCMP. "Locking your property and keeping valuable items stored out of sight can help reduce your chance of becoming a victim of theft."

Information about break-ins, thefts or suspicious activity can be reported to your local RCMP and can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by texting TIP212 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637).
