RCMP in New Brunswick are seeking information from the public in connection with an ongoing murder investigation.

Mario Bergeron, a Quebec City man known as a full patch member of the Hells Angels, went missing from the Quebec City area in April 2008, according to police. An ongoing investigation has led police to believe Bergeron was murdered and that his remains were buried in the Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska area. He was 43 years old at the time of his disappearance, said police.

“At this point in the ongoing investigation we believe there may be someone out there who might have information that can assist in leading us to where Mario Bergeron’s remains are buried,” said Superintendent Daniel Nowlan with the RCMP in New Brunswick. “We firmly believe Bergeron’s murder was related to organized crime and there is no threat to the general public. While we do have suspects who are involved in organized crime, at this point no charges have been laid.”

With the assistance of the Edmundston Police Force and Grand Falls Police Force, the RCMP has followed up on leads, interviewed witnesses and conducted searches in the Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska area. Investigators are asking anyone who might recall seeing suspicious activity in the Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska area in April 2008 to come forward. According to police, there may have been heavy equipment used in the disposal of the body, so if anyone recalls seeing such equipment in an area that was not under construction, they should contact police.
