The RCMP reports that they were called to the Saint John River near Tobique Narrows after canoers found a body near the shoreline. The investigating continues.

On August 2 right around 6:40 p.m. Atlantic Time, the RCMP was called to the shoreline on the Saint John River as some canoers had found a body there.

At this time, police have not been able to confirm how long the body was in the river, nor have the confirmed a positive identification of the person.

An autopsy is being conducted to assist the RCMP with their investigation at this time. More details are pending as the investigation continues.
