An 18-year-old man is facing several charges in connection with a break, enter and theft at a church in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska on April 19.

Kenny Rockwell, from Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska, appeared in Grand Falls Provincial Court on Tuesday. He is charged with break and enter, theft, mischief, possession of a controlled substance, failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking and breach of probation.

On April 22, the West District RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska as part of this investigation. Most of the property stolen from the church on Principale Street was recovered and seized, along with a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to Cpl. Michel Ouellette of the Grand Falls Detachment.

A 16-year-old girl from Sainte-Anne-de-Madawaska was also arrested in relation to this investigation. She has been released on conditions.

Rockwell was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Edmundston Provincial Court on May 20.

The investigation is continuing.
