RCMP Ask For Help to Identify Suspect in Moncton Robberies
The Codiac Regional RCMP is investigating several armed robberies overnight and early Friday morning in Moncton, and has released photos from surveillance video in hopes that someone can help identify the suspect.
The robberies occurred at the following stores:
- Thursday, July 21 at 11:50 p.m. at Ayers Convenience store on Killam Drive.
- Friday, July 22 at 4:35 a.m. at the Needs Convenience store at 29 Elkwood Drive.
- Friday, July 22 at 6:25 a.m. at Chubby's Convenience at 121 Killam Drive.
- Friday, July 22 at 6:55 a.m. at the Irving at 369 McLaughlin Drive
- Friday, July 22 at 7:20 a.m. at the Esso on Lonsdale Drive
In each case, the suspect was armed with a weapon, according to Staff Sgt. Maurice Comeau. No one was injured. In three of the robberies, the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money. In one case, lottery tickets were also stolen.
RCMP believe the same person committed all five robberies. The suspect is described as a Caucasian woman in her mid- to late-20s, between 5’2” and 5’5” tall. She has blond hair and had her face covered with a dark bandana. She wore different outfits during the robberies, either a grey or black hoodie and either jeans or camouflage pants. She also wore a red and white baseball cap in at least one of the robberies. The woman spoke English and police believe she may have been using a vehicle to get around.
Police are also investigating the possibility the robberies are connected to an armed robbery on Monday, July 18 at the Greco location on Killam Drive in Moncton.
Anyone with information, or who may recognize the woman in the photos, is asked to contact the Codiac RCMP at 506-857-2400.
