The New Brunswick RCMP arrested 15 people Wednesday and Thursday in the Greater Moncton area in an effort to disrupt street-level drug trafficking.

Twelve men and 3 women were charged Thursday with various offences in Moncton provincial court, according to Sgt. André Pepin of the Codiac Regional RCMP. The arrests were the culmination of a three month investigation.

"These are the people alleged to have been dealing the drugs directly to drug users," Sgt. Pepin said. "The investigation was a result of receiving information from various sources about some of the suspected street-level drug dealers in the area. While they may not have been directly connected, we believe collectively, these people were supplying a large number of drug users in the city."
