Despite the weather conditions Rally on the Roof II turned out to be a success- even when it turned into 'Rally in the Lobby.'

Rally on the Roof II started out with an optimistic view that maybe- just maybe, the sun would burn through the cloudy sky and keep the party going.

Even though the original '24-hour' event was cut down to just 11 hours TAMC along with Townsquare Media managed to surpass last year's amount by an extra $5,000. The organizers of Rally on the Roof II raised more the $25,000 from their detainees on the roof above the Giberson Day Surgery Unit at TAMC's A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital last Thursday.

As part of the fundraising effort, community members were encouraged to pay to have a “rooftop warrant” issued for the “arrest” of someone they’d like to see serve time. The “Rally on the Roof” paddy wagon (Crown Ambulance) and a number of vehicles donated for the day by Griffeth Ford Lincoln Mitsubishi, the official transportation sponsor, were dispatched to pick up the accused. More than 35 individuals were “arrested,” arraigned in a mock court hearing, and spent time on the roof raising “bail” money to support the special causes.

While the rain played tricks outside, detainees donned capes and masks and were brought to the roof where TAMC's Jason Parent a.k.a. Batman greeted them with an array of bubble attacks. Their only means of escape were their cell phones and the generosity of those who paid their bail. Meanwhile, Townsquare Media's Lisa Miles a.k.a. Batgirl operated communications and kept a channel open to the public- informing them of the incoming prisoners and their successful escapes.

The proceeds from Rally on the Roof went to the Aroostook County Relay for Life Event, TAMC's Aroostook Cancer Care Services and new this year, the Children's Healthcare Services at TAMC.

The Darling's Ice Cream Truck travelled from Bangor and made an appearance at the hospital as well as other locations in Presque Isle. The sale of the ice cream went to support the event's causes.
