The price of gas around New England continues to head downward.

The latest survey from GasBuddy.com showed that gas prices in Maine fell 4.5 cents to an average price of $2.42 cents a gallon. In Presque Isle, as of Monday morning, the price at the pump at most stations was $2.57 a gallon

New Hampshire prices dropped 4.2 cents to $2.49 a gallon, on average. Vermont saw the biggest decrease, falling 6 cents a gallon to an average of $2.60 a gallon.

GasBuddy.com showed the national average fell 2.7 cents a gallon in the past week to $2.41 a gallon. That's a decline of 28 cents in the last month and is 3.8 cents a gallon cheaper than at this time last year.
