The Presque Isle Wildcats edged out the John Bapst Crusaders Saturday morning in a Class B North quarterfinal match-up at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

No. 2 Presque Isle (15-4) hung on for the 37-36 win after Bapst (12-8) was forced to foul in the final seconds of the contest.

Emily Wheaton, who averages 20 points a game for the Wildcats, left the game with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter. Wheaton finished with nine points before the injury. She was named player of the game.

"We'll take it any way we can get it," Presque Isle coach Jeff Hudson said after the contest.

Senior forward Emily Lagerstrom led Presque Isle with 10 points.

Junior guard Crystal Bell led Bapst with 16 points.Grace Phillippon added 11 points.

Presque Isle will play Foxcroft Academy Ponies, who defeated the Central Red Devils in Friday night quarterfinal starting at 7:05 p.m.
