Students from the Presque Isle Regional Career and Technical Center's aquaculture class have spruced up The Aroostook Medical Center's ER waiting room with a new fish tank .

The tank was designed to hold freshwater tropical fish and is self-sufficient with fish, snails and shrimp that feed on algae and detritus on the bottom of the tank.

The PIRCTC students, ranging from grades 10 through 12, were responsible for the design of the tank and determining the final operating cost. They will also maintain the 55-gallon fish tank as part of their class.
