The Presque Isle Police Department says one adult and two juveniles face charges in connection with a burglary and theft last month at Buck’s Market on the Mapleton Road.

Presque Isle Police initiated an investigation on February 27 after store employees arriving to work reported that a rear door had been pried open. The investigation determined that a large sum of money had been stolen from the market.

On Thursday of last week, Detective Kris Beck, with the assistance of officers from the PIPD developed probable cause to charge 18-year-old Cooper Madore and two minors. All three face charges of Felony Burglary and Felony Theft by Unauthorized Taking, as well as Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass.

Detective Beck tells our newsroom that the amount of restitution for the money stolen and the damage to the door and door frame totaled $8000.

One of the juveniles has been charged and has a court date set for May 4. The two others have not yet been assigned a court date.
