A Presque Isle man has been charged in connection with the apparent drug overdose of a teenager last weekend.

The Presque Isle Police Department received a 911 call shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday reporting a possible drug overdose, according to a news release from Police Chief Matt Irwin.

Officers and paramedics quickly arrived on scene and discovered the overdose victim was a juvenile. The victim was treated at The Aroostook Medical Center and later released, Irwin said.

In the course of their investigation, Presque Isle Police were able to identify the substance as methamphetamine and through various sources also identified the suspected supplier of the drug.

Police executed a search warrant Tuesday at a residence on Second Street in Presque Isle and arrested the suspected methamphetamine supplier, identified as 27-year-old Derrick Page.

Chief Irwin said drugs and weapons were seized from the home.

Page was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs, a Class A felony.

He was later released on $3,000 bail.
