The Presque Isle Fire Department was called to fight a permitted fire on Wednesday afternoon, that got out of control.

According to the Bangor Daily News, Deputy Chief Adam Rider of the Presque Isle Fire Department said that the fire took place around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday evening at 215 Conant Road.

Rider said that the property owner had a burn permit that was needed in order to burn debris caused by a demolished, wooden shed.

Once the fire was started, it got out of control and caused a nearby, vacant mobile home to ignite that the property owner was also in the process of removing.

Rider said that the property owner called the P.I.P.D. who arrived on the scene and distinguished the fire before it had a chance to cause any more damage.

The fire department was on the property for about half an hour.
