The RCMP in York County, New Brunswick is investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred in the village of Harvey. 

RCMP Constable David Smith of the McAdam Detachment says the Harvey Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at a residence on Route 3 just before 1:30 am on July 25th.

The vehicle was a red 1997 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. Smith says a witness saw someone throwing an incendiary device through the window of the truck and then fleeing the scene.

The suspect description is fairy vague. The person is described as average height and build, and wearing a light-coloured top, dark pants, a ball cap, and light-coloured footwear.

McAdam police are asking anyone with information, or who may have seen anyone in the area before the fire, to contact them at 506-784-1205. Information can also be provided anonymously through the NB Crime Stoppers website, by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or texting TIP212 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637).
