Southeast District RCMP received a call at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday that there was a break and enter at a home on Little River Road, according to Cpl. Clay Wortman of the
Riverview Detachment.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the five suspects on the premises. The intruders, four men and one woman between the ages of 22 and 32, were placed under arrest without incident.

RCMP say the preliminary investigation revealed the suspects had attempted to steal several firearms and had caused extensive damage to the home.  Police seized a quantity of alcohol, marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia from the suspects' vehicle.

Three of the suspects were remanded into custody and will appear in Moncton Provincial Court to face charges later this week.  Two others were released and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

The investigation continues.
