An 18-year-old Fredericton man wanted in connection with a drug related traffic stop in late December has been arrested after being on the run for several weeks.

West District RCMP had been trying to locate Nicholas Bain in connection with a drug bust in Pennfield on December 26.  During the traffic stop on Route 175, police seized a significant quantity of methamphetamine and pills, along with a loaded handgun and body armour.  Two men from Moncton and Stanley were arrested at the time.

A warrant for Bain’s arrest was issued more than one month ago. Fredericton Police arrested the teen on Friday.  He is facing several charges related to alleged drug trafficking and weapons offences.

Bain remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in St. Stephen Provincial Court on Wednesday, April 2 for a bail hearing.
