Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich tore his triceps in the first day of joint practices with the New Orleans Saints. ESPN is reporting he will likely be out of action for four to six weeks.

The good news this that the tendon of the triceps was not torn and that surgery will not be needed and that allows him to come back at some point this season.

Ninkovich had played in 125 straight games for the Pats, including regular season and playoffs.

Meanwhile, the injury news on receiver Julian Edelman is better - his foot injury is not considered serious.
