Parts of Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield and Caribou Lost Service Sunday

Line workers from Emera Maine were dispatched to make repairs at an electrical substation in Presque Isle Sunday afternoon.

A damaged piece of equipment caused the substation to trip, knocking out service to more than 1600 customers in Presque Isle, Fort Fairfield and Caribou.

In addition, crews in Bangor are replacing a pole damaged by an auto accident earlier today. The accident did not interrupt service but we will have to take some customers near Union Street off line to safely move the wires from the broken pole to the new one sometime this afternoon.

In both cases, crews will make their repairs safely and as quickly as possible to restore service to all customers affected.
