Portland Sea Dogs pitcher Henry Owens has been a top pitcher in the minors all season. Sunday he was rewarded with the start in the Futures game.Owens, along with Sea Dogs second baseman Sean Coyle both played as their U.S. Futures team beat the World Futures team 3-2. Owens started the game and pitched one inning along with nine other pitchers from his team. He struck out one and allowed one hit in the game played at Target Field, site of tonight's Home Run Derby and Tuesday's Major League All-Star game.

Coyle also got the start for the U.S. team and went hitless in his two at-bats. Owens and Coyle return to the Sea Dogs who wrap up their series and the first half of the season tonight against New Hampshire. Coyle will play in the Eastern Conference All-Star game on Wednesday, Owens was selected for that game but will not pitch.
