A week-long investigation into a series of burglaries in central Penobscot County has led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Old Town man. The investigation came about after numerous daytime residential burglaries were reported in Holden, Glenburn, Hudson, Corinth, Old Town, Orono, Carmel, and Edinburg.

A search warrant for a home in in Old Town was executed last week and stolen property was recovered. 28-year-old Jonathan Brothers was taken into custody for violation of probation.

Police say charges of burglary and theft are pending and other people may be charged in connection with the case.

Investigators from the Holden Police Department, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, Brewer Police Department, Old Town Police Department, Orono Police Department, and Maine Probation & Parole worked on the case, with Detective William Flagg of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office assigned as the coordinating investigator.
