One way or another history will happen today when the teams from Texas and Ohio meet for the Senior League Baseball World Championship.

First pitch time at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor is 12:07pm and you can hear the game on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket and 929theticket.com

If (4-1)Texas wins it will be the first back-to-back title winner since the SLWS moved to Bangor 14 years ago. And, West University LL from Houston would become the first U.S. league to claim three senior division world championships. (2009,2014)

If (3-0)Ohio wins it will be a first for Holmes County LL. And, the last time a team from Ohio won a SLWS title was 1987 when Athens, Ohio claimed a title.

Here are some of the numbers to remember...

- Texas team batting average in the SLWS is .346 while Ohio is hitting .325

- Texas team ERA is 2.10 and Ohio's ERA is 1.66

- In last year's 7-4 championship game win over Curacao, John Doxakis led Texas with two hits and two RBI. He is hitting .444 (8-for-18) in this SLWS. He has the only home run during the week long play.
