According to Steve McCausland of the Maine Public Safety Department, 63-year-old Leon Kelley of Georgetown, son-in-law of Stan Brown, co-owner of Brown's Bee Farm, was shot by 70-year-old Merrill Kimball of Yarmouth, husband of the other co-owner of the business -- Karen Thurlow Kimball.

State Police say Kelley and Kimball got into a confrontation at the business location, which sits behind Brown’s house.

Kelley died in an ambulance enroute to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Kimball was detained by State Troopers, interviewed and released.

Kelley's autopsy is expected to take place on Monday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta.

State police detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting.
