Eduardo Rodriguez and Matt Barnes had a 6th inning implosion, giving up eight runs as Kansas City rolled to a 10-4 Sunday night win over the Red Sox.

What made the inning feel worse was the fact that the Sox had scored three runs to grab a lead a half inning earlier. There was no hint of a shutdown inning.

The big blow was a bases clearing triple by #9 hitter Raul Mondesi.

David Ortiz did hit his 31st homer of the season. It is is 534th career homer and ties him with Jimmy Foxx in 18th place alltime.

The loss bumps the Sox to 72-58, two games behind front running Toronto.

32 games to play and the next one is tonight against Tampa Bay.
