Nick Cave’s ‘One More Time With Feeling’ Schedules DVD/Blu-ray Release

Nick Cave fans who weren't able to catch his new One More Time With Feeling documentary in theaters — or who want to add a copy to their home library — will get their chance early next year.

Pitchfork reports that the film will make its way to DVD and Blu-ray on March 3, 2017; just as in theaters, viewers will have their pick between 2D and 3D versions. According to the report, the home version of the movie will include three exclusive short features, all helmed by One More Time With Feeling director Mark Dominik.

As previously reported, the movie takes a hybrid approach to depicting the creation of Cave's new Skeleton Tree LP — capturing the veteran songwriter in the studio while opening a window into his personal life, which was shadowed in the months leading up to the sessions by the sudden death of his teenage son.

One More Time With Feeling has earned universal critical acclaim during its limited theatrical run, with TIME's Stephanie Zacharek echoing many of her peers by summing it up as "Both gentle and staggering" and "an examination of the way our personal experiences can spur creativity-or render it inconsequential." As Dominik told Rolling Stone, the film came out of the two artists' friendship — and Cave's realization that while he felt compelled to keep making music, he couldn't handle the thought of doing a full-blown press tour for Skeleton Tree.

"I felt tremendous responsibility because it was his tragedy, it was his money, it was his record, and I had to come up with something coherent," explained Dominik. "I wasn't sure if that was possible."

Shortly after One More Time With Feeling's DVD/Blu-ray release, Cave and his band the Bad Seeds will return to North America for a round of tour dates. Check out the complete list of currently announced shows here.
