Gas prices around New England are heading up as the thermometer is heading down.

In its latest survey, GasBuddy.com found that gas here in the Pine Tree State went up to $2.87 a gallon. In Presque Isle, as of Monday morning, prices at the pump at most places were just a shade under $3.00, coming in at $2.99 a gallon.

In New Hampshire, the price rose to $2.79 per gallon, and in neighboring Vermont, gas prices went up 3 cents from last week to $2.90 a gallon.

The national average checked in at $2.91 per gallon.
