Gas prices around the Northeast have begun to ease after Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria have moved out of the Eastern Seaboard's area.

Analysts say it might take some time before prices at the pump return to where they were before the storms hit.

According to GasBuddy.com's latest survey, the average price for a gallon of gas here in Maine was $2,58 on Sunday, a drop of ten cents over last week. Prices in Presque Isle Monday morning were at $2.84 a gallon.

 

In neighboring New Hampshire, gas was $2.60 per gallon on average, a decrease of 4.9 cents from the previous week. Vermont's pump prices were down 4.2 cents in the past week, to $2.67 per gallon.

Meanwhile, the national average slid down to $2.55 a gallon, a drop of 5.5 cents from last week. But, it's still 19.6 cents higher than a month ago and 34.74 cents higher than last year at this time.
