New Brunswick Man Sentenced in Lac Baker Shooting
A New Brunswick man who shot and wounded another man in the Lac Baker area last fall was sentenced Tuesday in Edmundston Provincial Court to 4 years in prison.
Shawn Jesse Nadeau of Clair pleaded guilty to eight counts against him, including aggravated assault, recklessly discharging a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. The 27-year-old Nadeau will also be banned from owning a firearm for life.
RCMP said the shooting took place on the night of November 28 along a back road in the Lac Baker area. A 37-year-old man was taken to the hospital in Edmundston with a gunshot wound. Police arrested Nadeau the following day.
Nadeau had also pleaded guilty to charges related to a home invasion and assault that occurred on October 10, 2013 in northwest New Brunswick.
