NASA has put on display wreckage from the space shuttles Challenger & Columbia. The exhibit is at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and the first time debris has been open to the public.

Families of the crews worked with NASA, and were given a private showing - some of the crews' personal items are on display. The exhibit opened in June and was kept low key.

In an interview with CBS News, Kennedy Space Center Director, Robert Cabana, had this to say:

"This was very important to me and very important to the people who work here at KSC. Challenger and Columbia, they're part of our history, they're part of who we are as a nation and as an agency."
