The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, according to Staff Sgt. Eric Larose of the Codiac detachment. Police believe a pick-up truck was making a left turn onto Shediac Road when it collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 55-year-old man from Moncton passed away at the scene as a result of his injuries, Larose said. The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.

This is the fourth fatal motorcycle crash in RCMP jurisdiction in New Brunswick so far in 2016. Police are reminding everyone on the road to be sure they are aware of other vehicles around them at all times, and to share the road equally.

The investigation into the fatal collision is continuing.
