A 29-year-old Moncton man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Fort Street in Port Elgin, N.B. late last month.  


The victim, also a 29-year-old man, suffered stab wounds in the early morning hours of March 28 and was taken to hospital, according the the RCMP.  The victim was finally released from the hospital about a week after the alleged assault.

Allain Pigeon appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Wednesday to face charges. He was charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of failure to comply with an undertaking.

Pigeon was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear back in court on Friday, April 10.

RCMP Say the investigation also led to the arrest of a 27-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both from Moncton.  They have been released and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

The investigation is continuing.
