MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says the Pete Rose lifetime banishment from baseball will remain in place. Rose asked the new commish for reinstatement back in February and Manfred said a decision would come by the end of the year.

And now the commissioner has ruled and the ban stays in place.

Rose was banned from baseball in 1989 after an investigation into his gambling on baseball.

Rose is baseball's alltime hit leader wtih 4,256.
