Mechanical Failure Believed to be Cause of Caribou Crash

A Caribou man was involved in an accident in which his vehicle crashed in to a guardrail on Thursday evening.

According to the Caribou Police Department, at approximately 8:08pm, officers responded to an accident at the Herschel and Main Street intersection.

Officers found 27-year-old Kyle Perkins, Caribou had been operating his 2006 Honda Pilot south on Main Street when he attempted to turn onto Park Street and had mechanical failure. Perkins used the emergency brake to slow down but ended up running through the Herschel and Main Street intersection and crashed into the guardrail.

Cause of the accident is pending.
