7,368 fans showed up at Hadlock Field in Portland last night to see Red Sox pitcher Justin Masterson make his Double-A rehab start. They saw a pitcher who is still struggling to find his game again.

In the 5-3 loss to the Bowie Baysox, Masterson pitched the first 4.2 innings, giving up two runs, eight hits, one walk and two strikeouts. 52 of his 80 pitches were strikes. Masterson got a non decision.

Keury De La Cruz had two hits for the Seadogs, including his fourth home run.

NOTE: One of the hits Masterson allowed was a double to Mike Yastrzemski, the grandson of Red Sox Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski.
