The jury in Caribou has come in with a verdict against the man accused of murdering a nurse's aide in Aroostook County.

The jury reached a verdict of guilty against Jesse Marquis in the death of his ex-girlfriend.

Marquis was charged with the stabbing and shooting of Theriault two years ago in northern Maine. He then hid out in the woods near St. Francis before being apprehended after a six-day manhunt.

Sixteen witnesses testified Wednesday and Thursday in Aroostook County Superior Court, including forensic experts and the state medical examiner.

Defense attorneys Stephen Smith and Dan Umphrey did not call witnesses and Marquis did not testify or speak in court.

Judge E. Allen Hunter scheduled sentencing for 9 a.m. July 6 at the Aroostook Superior Court in Caribou.

Marquis faces anywhere from 25 years to life in prison.
