An incident in Houlton Wednesday afternoon sent one man to the hospital with head injuries after taking a blow to the head with a baseball bat.

According to Houlton Police Lt. Dan Pelletier, police responded to Court Street in Houlton at around 3:45 p.m.. Upon arriving on scene Officer Sucy observed several males sitting on the ground, with special Agents from ICE overseeing their movements.

Police found that 20-year-old James Schneider of Houlton, had been struck in the head with a baseball bat.

Several males had apparently chased Schneider after a drug deal went wrong. When the group caught up to Schneider, he pulled out a knife. 18-year-old Reginald Dobbins of Houlton hit Schneider in the head with the baseball bat, causing him to drop his knife.

Houlton Ambulance responded to the scene and treated Schneider.

The incident remains under investigation.
