Man Dies After Car Hits Concrete Wall in Edmundston

Police say a 52-year-old man from Saint-Basile has died after a single-vehicle crash early Saturday in Edmundston.

The Edmundston Police Force reports the accident happened just after midnight on Acadie Boulevard at the intersection of Roy Avenue.

Investigators say it appears the driver lost control of his car, which flipped over and hit a concrete wall. TVA reports the impact moved the concrete barrier about 8 feet.

The driver and lone occupant of the car was taken to the Edmundston Regional Hospital where he passed away from his injuries. The victim's identity has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
