The West District RCMP has arrested a man in connection with an incident where shots were fired into the RCMP detachment on the Tobique First Nation.

On May 20, RCMP members arrived at the detachment to find several bullet holes in the side and the back of the building. It is believed that the incident happened some time in the early morning hours of May 20.

No one was injured in the incident.

On May 21, a 25-year-old man from Tobique First Nation was arrested in relation to this incident. He remains in custody in connection with another matter. Charges are pending in connection with the shooting and the investigation is continuing.
