State Troopers tracked down the father after a search of homes along Walker Road in Lyman. Police say 35-year-old Christopher Peare had no idea his two- and three-year-old-daughters had been missing from the house for 90 minutes. He had allegedly been playing video games and smoking marijuana.

State Police say the girls’ mother was not at home.  The children apparently had climbed out a window in the mobile home.

Peare was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and was taken to the York County Jail. Police say he had been charged with the same crime in 2012 following an incident in Sanford with another child.

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services was contacted and arrangements were made to locate the children with other relatives.

State Police say the two girls were first taken to the Sanford hospital to be checked over. They had no injuries from the incident.
