Madison, Maine's Bobby Wilder is a first-time FBS bowl winning coach. His Old Dominion University Monarchs beat Eastern Michigan in the Popeye's Bahamas Bowl Friday afternnon 24-20.

Eight years ago Wilder left as UMaine offensive coordinator to re-start a football program at ODU in Norfolk, Virginia after 69 years without the sport. From startup, to FCS football, to FBS level football, Wilder grew the program to today's first-ever bowl win and a 10-3 season.

QB David Washington threw three touchdown passes. RB Ray Lawry rushed for 133 yards.

Wilder's coaching staff includes include Waterville's Brian Scott (offensive coordinator), former UMaine assistant Rich Nagy (defensive coordinator), and two former UMaine players, Ron Whitcomb and Jeff Comissiong.
