Maine’s Moose Hunting Season Starts Monday

Get that gun all shined up and break out the hunter orange, Maine's moose hunting season starts soon!

That's right, for those of you lucky enough to have scored a moose hunting permit, the hunting season officially gets underway on Monday.

If you're looking to bag the big one, Northern Maine is the place you want to be. With Maine's moose population estimated to be around 76,000 your chances are pretty good!

According to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, last year in the state hunters killed 2,937 moose out of a possible 3,725 permits issued.
