Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 111 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: OAS Date: 1/27/2019 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. KILCOLLINS Brief Synopsis: Trooper Kilcollins was conducting traffic enforcement in Mars Hill along US Highway 1A. He observed a vehicle with a defective headlight and stopped the car for the infraction. During the stop, he discovered the male driver had a suspended driver’s license. The man was issued a criminal summons for Operating after Suspension and arranged to have a licensed driver come get him and his vehicle.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 1/29/2019 Town: ST. FRANCIS Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Trooper Curtin arrested a St. Francis man on a warrant for failure to appear on an OAS charge. Tr. Curtin was working and a separate theft case when he learned of the warrant and arrested the man at a local apartment complex.

Incident Type: BURGLARY Date: 1/29/2019 Town: WOODLAND Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant responded to a Woodland address for a burglary. A property owner reported that a vacant house he was renovating had been broken into. Some vehicles that had been stored on the property had been damaged. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 1/29/2019 Town: MAPLETON Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant met with a Mapleton man when he reported the theft of multiple items from his property. It appeared that the theft had occurred sometime during the last week. Leads have been developed in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 1/30/2019 Town: HOULTON Trooper: RECRUIT COTTON / CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint and Recruit Cotton were called to the Houlton Port of Entry for a suspected impaired driver. Recruit Cotton spoke with the driver, suspected impairment, and conducted Field Sobriety Testing. The man was not able to complete any of the tests and was arrested for OUI.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 1/31/2019 Town: PRESQUE ISLE Trooper: CPL. MICHAUD Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud arrested a Presque Isle man on a warrant for violation conditions of his release. The man had been arrested by Cpl. Michaud for burglary and theft of multiple items, including a firearm in 2018. The man was out awaiting a disposition in the case and failed to comply with conditions of his release. After failing a drug test, the warrant was issued and Cpl. Michaud arrested the man without incident.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 1/31/2019 Town: OXBOW Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier took a theft complaint from a camp owner in Oxbow. The camp owner reported several items missing from his camp. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: ASSIST OTHER AGENCY Date: 1/31/2019 Town: OAKFIELD Trooper: TR. DUFF Brief Synopsis: Presque Isle PD contacted the State Police requesting assistance locating a man that had violated an order of protection in Presque Isle. Tr. Duff got the information and later located the subject at his place of employment in Oakfield. Tr. Duff explained there is a warrant for his arrest due to that incident and he would be arrested. The man cooperated with Tr. Duff, was arrested, and was transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 2/01/2019 Town: MAPLETON Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque was conducting traffic enforcement in Mapleton. He observed a vehicle committing a traffic infraction and stopped the vehicle. While conducting an investigation, Tr. Levesque discovered the passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant for arrest for failing to appear in court on a theft charge and misuse of identification from Presque Isle PD. Tr. Levesque arrested the man without incident, transported him to Presque Isle PD, and the man was able to post bail resulting in his release.

Incident Type: OAR / WARRANT Date: 2/01/2019 Town: PRESQUE ISLE Trooper: TR. KILCOLLINS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins was driving through Presque Isle and was stopped at a stop light. He looked at the driver of the vehicle next to him, recognized the man, and knew he had a revoked license. Tr. Kilcollins stopped the man, discovered he also had a warrant for his arrest, and noted several other traffic/criminal violations involving the vehicle (expired inspection certificate, illegally attached plates, etc.). Tr. Kilcollins arrested the man on the warrant and brought him to Presque Isle PD. The man was issued a criminal summons for operating after revocation and then released on bail.

Incident Type: AIRPLANE CRASH Date: 2/03/2019 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: CPL. HAFFORD Brief Synopsis: Cpl Hafford responded to the Frenchville Airport for what was reported as an airplane that had ran off the runway. Cpl Hafford arrived and found that the private plane was landing and had hit into some snowdrifts, which caused the plane to pull left and into a large snowdrift. The plane had no damage and no injuries, FAA was contacted and they interviewed the pilot.
