Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 80 calls for service over the final week of 2017 in Aroostook County and surrounding areas. Here is the Troop’s weekly report:

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 12/27/2017 Town: FRENCHVILLE Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier was patrolling in Frenchville when he observed a man walk into the Frenchville town office that he knew had an active arrest warrant. Tr. Desrosier waited for the man to come back outside to his vehicle where he confronted him. The man accused Tr. Desrosier of harassing him and was not cooperative with the arrest at first. Tr. Desrosier was able to arrest the man without incident and transported him to the Fort Kent Police Department where the man posted bail.

Incident Type: SCAM Date: 12/27/2017 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. KILCOLLINS Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins is currently investigating a scam where a Mars Hill resident was tricked into paying $500. The victim stated he believed he was speaking to an employee from Emera and that he owed the money for his electricity bill. The man paid the money and later realized it was a scam. Tr. Kilcollins is working with the victim regarding this incident.

Incident Type: FATAL CRASH Date: 12/27/2017 Town: WOODLAND Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: On Dec 27th, Tr Pescitelli was dispatched to a rollover crash that occurred on the Woodland Center Road in Woodland. Investigation would show that a 72-year-old female lost control on the Woodland Center Road, hit a snowbank and rolled over. The female was the owner and only occupant of the vehicle. Cpl. Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 12/30/2017 Town: SMYRNA Trooper: TR. DUFF Brief Synopsis: Tr. Duff was patrolling Interstate 95 in the Smyrna area and stopped to check a vehicle on the side of the roadway. He observed the male driver switching places with the female passenger. Tr. Duff conducted a check on both persons and found the male has a suspended Maine driver’s license and an active warrant for his arrest. The female had a valid license. Tr. Duff arrested the man on the warrant and also issued him a traffic summons for Operating After Suspension.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 12/31/2017 Town: LITTLETON Trooper: TR. SYLVIA Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia was on patrol in Littleton when he observed a vehicle traveling 86 in the posted 55 mph zone. The Monticello man was summonsed for criminal speed.
