Incident Type: ASSAULT Date: 8/09/2016 Town: Amity Trooper: Tr. Sucy Brief Synopsis: A 46-year-old male came into the Emergency Dept. of Houlton Regional Hospital that was alleging to have been beaten up by a 28-year-old man in Amity. HRH called and reported the assault to the State Police. Tr. Sucy was assigned to the case and interviewed both men and a witness. The investigation revealed that both men were mutual combatants and refused to press charges against the other if it meant that they would also be charged. No charges were filed.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/13/2016 Town: Westfield Trooper: Tr. Sucy Brief Synopsis: While on rural patrol on US Rt. 1 in Westfield, Tr. Sucy stopped a vehicle for failure to dim headlights. The operator was under suspension and had previous OAS convictions. Tr. Sucy charged the man with OAS and towed the vehicle.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 8/14/2016 Town: Crystal Trooper: Tr. Sucy Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sucy was called to a residence in Crystal for a female that had trespassed into a residence. While en-route to the residence, Tr. Sucy learned that the female had an active arrest warrant. Tr. Sucy arrived and was told that the female had run into the woods. Tr. Sucy located the female hiding in the woods and placed her under arrest. The woman was visiting with the caller’s son and there was not a trespass issue. Tr. Sucy transported the female to the Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/12/2016 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. The female operator had a revoked license and was drinking from an open alcoholic container. She was charged with Operating After Habitual Offender Status, Violation of Bail, and Possession of an open alcoholic container. The woman’s right to operate was revoked for 3 OUI convictions from 2015.

Incident Type: THEFT Date: 8/08/2016 Town: Allagash Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin took the report of a stolen dirt bike. The motorcycle was recovered days later and the investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: ARREST - OTHER Date: 8/12/2016 Town: Hodgdon Trooper: Tr. Casavant Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant arrested Willis Nason, age 47, of Hodgdon on an indictment warrant for Possession of Sexually Explicit Material of Minors under 12. Nason had been indicted on August 4, 2016 by the Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office after an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security Investigation. Nason was arrested without incident and later made bail after being processed. Trooper Casavant was assisted by Agents from the Department of Homeland Security Investigation.

Incident Type: Possible Underage Drinking Date: 8/11/2016 Town: Littleton Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: Tr. Sylvia investigated a report of an underage drinking party. 4 juveniles were located as well as 2 youths over 18. Parents were called to come and get some of the youths. No evidence of underage drinking was found, but it did appear that some youths ran away before Tr. Sylvia arrived.

Incident Type: ARREST - OTHER Date: 8/12/2016 Town: Orient Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: As a result of a traffic stop, Tr. Sylvia arrested a female on a warrant and summoned the operator of the vehicle for Operating After Suspension, Violation of Bail, and Attaching False Plates. Once at the jail, a urine test was given to the female and she was then charged with Violation of Bail as well.

Incident Type: MISSING PERSON Date: 8/13/2016 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Sylvia Brief Synopsis: State Police received a call from the Houlton Port of Entry. An Arizona woman had come through the port and there had been an attempt to locate put out on her from police in Arizona. The family of the female wanted police to check on her well-being; because they had been concerned about her safety. Tr. Sylvia spoke with the female as well as her family in Arizona. They were put in contact with each other and it appeared the woman was fine.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/12/2016 Town: Island Falls Trooper: Tr. Saucier Brief Synopsis: While off shift, Tr. Saucier saw an Island Falls man operating a vehicle in Island Falls. Tr. Saucier knew that the man’s right to operate had been revoked. Once Tr. Saucier came to work, he located the subject and summoned him with felony operating after revocation.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/10/2016 Town: Bridgewater Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud stopped a vehicle for speeding. The female operator was found to be under suspension for failing to file proof of insurance. She was cited for operating after suspension and warned for her speed.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/13/2016 Town: Littleton Trooper: Tr. Endre Brief Synopsis: Tr. Endre was called to a church in Littleton for a woman who would not leave the property. Tr. Endre located the female within her vehicle; she told the Trooper that she had stopped at the church so she could sleep because she didn’t feel comfortable driving home. After an investigation the 52-year-old female operator was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol and transported to the ACJ.

Incident Type: Stolen Gun Date: 8/11/2016 Town: Masardis Trooper: Tr. Endre Brief Synopsis: Tr. Endre received the report of a stolen rifle. The rifle was reported to be stolen from a motor vehicle on a logging road in the town of Masardis. The investigation is ongoing.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/12/2016 Town: Hodgdon Trooper: Tr. Bell Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell stopped a vehicle in Hodgdon and as a result the driver was summonsed for operating after suspension

Incident Type: Traffic Date: 8/07/2016 Town: Southern Aroostook Trooper: Tr. Endre Brief Synopsis: Tr. Endre was on I-95 and assisting a motorist stopped on the shoulder when another vehicle passed his cruiser without changing lanes or reducing its speed. Tr. Endre stopped the vehicle and summonsed the operator for improper passing of emergency vehicle using lights.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
