Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 117 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/05/2018 Town: STOCKHOLM Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque stopped a Pennsylvania registered vehicle for expired registration. The driver was displaying a temporary registration taped to the rear window of the vehicle and no actual registration plates. During the course of the stop Tr. Levesque discovered the man had a suspended driver’s license in Pennsylvania as well. Tr. Levesque issued the man a criminal summons for operating without a license and for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 8/06/2018 Town: SAINT AGATHA Trooper: TR. DESROSIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Saint Agatha after observing it cross the centerline several times. During the stop, Tr. Desrosier found that the male passenger in the vehicle had an active warrant for his arrest for unpaid fines. Tr. Desrosier arrested the man and brought him to Fort Kent District Court where he was able to see the judge and make arrangements to pay his unpaid fines.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/06/2018 Town: CHAPMAN Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque responded to a single vehicle crash in Chapman. The driver had left the roadway, struck a utility pole, and there were wires in the roadway. During the investigation, Tr. Levesque discovered the male driver had a suspended Maine driver’s license and had current bail conditions. Tr. Levesque issued the man a criminal summons for OAS and a criminal summons for violating his conditions of release by committing a new criminal act.

Incident Type: WARRANT ARREST Date: 8/07/2018 Town: HOULTON Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli was at the Houlton District Court and was told by a clerk that there was a male in court that had an active arrest warrant. Tr Pescitelli went in the court room and advised the male that he was under arrest on the warrant and took him in custody.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/07/2018 Town: EASTON Trooper: SGT. CLARK Brief Synopsis: While working a traffic enforcement detail in Easton, Sgt. Clark stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. During the course of the stop Sgt. Clark discovered the woman had a suspended Maine driver’s license for failing to make required payment of fines/costs. Sgt. Clark issued the woman a traffic summons for OAS and helped her arrange to have a licensed driver come get her and the vehicle.

Incident Type: VIOLATION OF BAIL Date: 8/08/2018 Town: PATTEN Trooper: TR. SAUCIER Brief Synopsis: Tr. Saucier conducted a bail check on a Patten man at the subject’s residence. The urine sample showed the man had violated conditions of release by using drugs. While conducting this investigation, another subject was located on the property and arrested by a Penobscot Deputy on 7 outstanding warrants. The pair were transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

Incident Type: TRAFFIC Date: 8/09/2018 Town: NEW LIMERICK Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint received a complaint of someone moving a shed on US Highway 2, New Limerick, and the shed was dragging on the ground. A second complaint was received of the shed coming off the trailer and half in the ditch. Cpl. Quint located the vehicle and learned the man was being evicted from a local trailer park and wanted to take his shed. The man, with help from friends, got the trailer out of the ditch and parked it in a garage parking lot with owner’s permission. The driver of the truck pulling the trailer was issued a summons for having an unregistered trailer and was told to not move the trailer without proper equipment.

Incident Type: VIOLATION OF BAIL Date: 8/09/2018 Town: NEW LIMERICK Trooper: CPL. QUINT Brief Synopsis: While investigating a traffic complaint in New Limerick, Cpl. Quint found that a woman violated her bail conditions by being at a residence where she was prohibited. The woman first denied she was there and then later admitted she was only at the trailer for a few minutes and then left. The woman was issued a criminal summons for violating her conditions of release.

Incident Type: K-9 ACTIVITY Date: 8/11/2018 Town: MADAWASKA Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque and K-9 “Vitz” performed a demo during the Acadian Festival taking place in Madawaska.

Incident Type: K-9 ACTIVITY Date: 8/11/2018 Town: MARS HILL Trooper: TR. LEVESQUE Brief Synopsis: Tr. Levesque and K-9 “Vitz” performed a demo during the Mars Hill Festival Days taking place in Mars Hill.

Incident Type: SPECIALTY TEAM Date: 8/12/2017 Town: PRESQUE ISLE Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Presque Isle PD notified Houlton RCC of a possible grenade that was discovered in an old barn. Tr. Pescitelli (Bomb team) was dispatched to the scene to recover the device. Upon further examination, it was determined that the device was a lighter that had been designed to look like a pineapple grenade. The device will be disposed of at the next training

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/12/2018 Town: HOULTON Trooper: TR. PESCITELLI Brief Synopsis: Tr Pescitelli conducted a traffic stop in Houlton. The 29-year-old male operator was determined to be operating under the influence of liquor and Tr Pescitelli also found the male was on probation. Tr Pescitelli contacted the probation officer and arrested the male for OUI. Probation told Tr Pescitelli that they would summons for the violation at the next PO meeting.
