Senators Susan Collins and Angus King announced that Community Concepts, Inc will receive a total of $5.1 million from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Community Concepts, Inc has multiple Head Start locations in Oxford and Franklin Counties, according to a recent press release.

Head Start was established in 1965 to promote school readiness and provide and comprehensive array of health, nutritional, and social services to eligible four and five-year-old preschoolers and their families.

In a joint statement, the two Maine U.S. Senators said, "Our Head Start providers work tirelessly to make their communities stronger, and we are grateful for this continues federal investment in Maine's future."
