Maine State Police and the Berwick Police Department have made an arrest in the theft of a handgun that occurred on Aug. 12, but the firearm itself has not been recovered.

On Aug. 12, Maine State Police in Troop A received a report that a Kimber Custom Crimson Carry II .45 caliber handgun with laser was stolen from a residence in Lebanon.

Investigators from the State Police and the Berwick Police Department conducted a coordinated investigation and arrested a 15-year-old Berwick resident on Aug. 18.

The juvenile was charged with theft of a firearm and was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

The firearm has not been located and police are requesting information from anyone who may know its location. Police say you can remain anonymous if you wish.

The handgun retails for about $1200. It's silver aluminum construction with a black matte finish and either dark amber or black hand grip. The weapon is 8.7 inches long with a 5 inch barrel and weighs 31 ounces unloaded. It's manufactured by Kimber America.
