Witnesses Led Police to the Suspect and His Fiance in Bangor

The charges stemmed from an incident in September 2023, when Bangor Police Officers were called to Rangeley Place in the Capehart neighborhood by callers who said they heard a gunshot. Bangor Police Sergeant Jason McAmbley said witnesses told police that a black male had allegedly fired a round from a handgun and that he then pointed the gun at another male. Witnesses gave police a description of what the man was wearing and also of a woman who was with the suspect. Officers located the two people where the witnesses said they would be and also found a firearm.

Caudill is Prohibited From Possessing Firearms or Ammunition Due to Prior Felonies

According to the United States Attorney District of Maine, Caudill was taken into custody when police found a box of 9mm ammunition in his backpack. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had fired a Ruger 9mm pistol and then handed the gun to his fiancee as officers approached. When he was questioned, Caudill told police that he had fired the shot due to an altercation with another male. The handgun, and the ammunition, were seized by the police.

Caudill is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition due to multiple prior felony convictions.
