Maine Man Killed In Shooting, Suspect In Custody

State police say one man is dead and a second is in custody following a shooting today in Sebago.

The shooting took place at 331 Hancock Pond Rd around noon time.

The victim was shot outside his home and the second man was taken into custody in his vehicle a short time later by Bridgton Police.

Dead is Charles Cross, 66, who lived at the Sebago house with his longtime girlfriend Paula Simonds, 59, who called police.

Charged with murder is David Pinkham, 67, of Bridgton who was taken to the Cumberland County jail.

Maine State Police spokesman Steve McCausland says the two men did know each other and State Police are now attempting to determine what sparked the violence

Detectives are being assisted by Cumberland County deputies and the Maine Attorney Generals Office.
